Event Info:
It’s almost time for the Oktoberfest Worship Service to be held on Sunday October 1! This may not be everyone’s “cup of tea” but then neither is formal liturgy or contemporary church. But, for those of us who are proud of our German heritage, AND with this being the 500th anniversary of Luther starting the Protestant Reformation, it’s only appropriate that we do some German style celebrating.
You do NOT have to be German to enjoy this service...the music is easy, fun, and very singable, even if you’ve never heard it before. Don Bauer, Director of Music, St. John Lutheran Church, ELCA, in Bartonville, IL will be here to lead the music. He assembles a live Polka Praise band to play for church, and the entire service is 100% LUTHERAN...with full high church liturgy, except the music used comes from German Polka and waltz tunes.
After church, the celebration continues with a food served in the Community Room.
Invite your friends!
Let’s PACK the church at 9 a.m. on October 1st, 2017!
